Identifying a V1 or V2 FSD-2 Drive
JiffyDOS is available for the FSD-2 drive, however, you must determine if you have the version 1 or version 2 drive before ordering JiffyDOS. The two JiffyDOS roms are different and won't interchange between the two drives. This will involve opening up the drive so you can see the main circuit board. Remove the bottom cover and then study the pictures here to see the differences. |

The FSD-2 V1 drive has its rom chip located in the middle of two other similar sized chips. |

The FSD-2 V2 drive is very similar to the V1 and looks like there should be three chips but the center one is missing. |
